Speed Alarm monitors GPS speed and alerts when speed exceeds the maximum threshold or drops below the minimum. Access: Help → Safety at sea → Speed alarm.
Setup
- Enable maximum and/or minimum speed monitoring
- Set thresholds with the slider or quick presets (0.5–30 kn)
- Tap “Start speed alarm”
How it works
- A foreground service monitors GPS speed in the background
- When a threshold is crossed: loud alarm, vibration, full-screen alert and notification
- When speed returns to the safe range — the alarm clears automatically
- Green banner in the app during an alarm
Stopping requires confirmation in a dialog.
