Boat Documents helps you track expiry dates for onboard paperwork. Access: Tools → Boat documents.

Document types

  • Insurance
  • Survey / certificate
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Licence / certificate
  • Other (custom name)

For each entry you save

  • Document type and optional custom name (e.g. hull insurance, sailing licence)
  • Expiry date (date picker)
  • Reminder before expiry: none, 7, 14, 30 or 60 days (default 30 days)
  • Notes (e.g. policy number, insurer)

The list is sorted by urgency

  • Red — expired
  • Orange — expires within 30 days
  • Green — valid for more than 30 days

PDF export: The “Export PDF” button generates a list with dates, statuses and notes. You can save or share the file (email, WhatsApp, cloud).

Push reminders: When a reminder is set, the app schedules a notification for around 9:00 AM on the chosen day before expiry. Tapping the notification opens Boat documents.

Requirements

  • Notification permission (Android 13+)
  • “Boat documents — reminders” channel enabled
  • Android 12+: exact alarm permission (same as calendar)

Reminders are rescheduled after a phone restart. The empty state offers quick-add chips for common categories.

Data is stored locally on the phone. Auxiliary tool only — does not replace original documents or legal obligations.
