MOB (Man Overboard) supports the rescue manoeuvre: position logging, event list, contact alerts and return navigation. Access: Help → Safety at sea → MOB.
Emergency contacts (top of screen)
- Emergency phone (SMS) — include country code, e.g. +48…
- Emergency WhatsApp number — separate number for WhatsApp alerts
Numbers are stored locally in the MOB module (independent of the crew list).
Recording entries
- Each press of the red MOB button creates a new entry
- Each entry includes exact date and time (to the second) and GPS coordinates (DMS and decimal)
- Newest entries appear at the top of the list
- Entries are saved locally on the phone
- Each entry can be deleted (trash icon) — confirmation required
Return navigation (for the latest entry)
- Elapsed time since the event
- Distance to the MOB point
- Bearing to the MOB point
Contact alerts: After recording entries, use:
- Send via WhatsApp — opens WhatsApp with a ready MOB message (all entries, time, coordinates, Google Maps link)
- Send SMS — opens the SMS app with the same content to the emergency phone number
End: “End MOB mode” clears all entries and stops the background notification.
Compass screen shortcut
- Red MOB button on the dial logs the same entry as the MOB module
- Long press and drag to move the button
